What seems the very advantage of the five two fast diet for many is the likely cause of its failure for a large group of people. The same problem being common to all diets.
My introduction to this diet, which has swept the world was via a television documentary, then some friends who were singing it's praises, then the book, and then finally my own experience. Everyone I knew initially doing it were quite fit healthy people who wanted to lose just a few kilos.
This Included myself, they managed the low calorie days with only little or no discomfort. But those people I encountered who were very overweight or obese were not doing it so easily. They struggled on the low calorie days.
Conventional thinking would dictate that they had expanded stomachs, and were just accustomed to eating more. But modern science has found that the hormones which satisfy our hunger and give us hunger signals are different in overweight people.
