Having that tight sexy abdominal stomach is what women find sexy! Men on the other hand, want that lean and chiseled six pack abs for macho appeal! The midsection is a problem area for most people; and having an abdominal area that is free of fats and flab is what everyone aspires for. Normally the love handles in the midsection are the biggest issue confronting people who see their gut area getting bigger and thicker through the years.

For an awesome looking abdominal stomach, exercise training on the midsection portion alone may not be the ultimate answer. The exercise program should go hand in hand with exercises in the area that are near the abs section too. These would refer to the muscles that are found within the core area of the body: abdominal and lower back muscles, mid back to upper pelvic region muscles, and the love handle area where you find muscles of different shapes, sizes, and lengths.

The abdominal muscles are simply amazing since they intertwined so closed together. Muscles are layered on top of each other and with the right exercise program, it is not far fetched that you can great abs in no time at all. There are many types of exercises that purport to show that they are better than the others. There are core workouts however, that are designed to provide exercises for all midsection muscles so you can have that core of steel abs that you dream about.

The workout would include exercises on the upper, middle and lower abdominal area, the oblique, love handles, lower and mid back areas. Doing exercises on these areas could lead to injury if done without proper guidance. The workouts would not need expensive gadgets or equipments but would rely mostly on the workings of the body itself. Some mistakes that many people make, is when they pattern the exercise routines with that of body builders or power lifters; without fully realizing that most people are not of these genres.
So, what does the ideal Core of Steel Workout should be?
- These should be well chosen exercises for the entire midsection area to make it lean, flat, and well defined. This may include sit-ups and crunches to train the abdominal or spinal flexion. However, studies have shown that too much load at the back area can lead to back pain or disc herniation. This should therefore be done under the guidance of physical instructors or a therapist;

- Bracing exercises have been proven to train the abs better than other form of exercises. This technique involves bracing your abs hard as if you are about to be hit. You must do this without pushing your abs out or sucking them in. What you do is just keep the midsection section tight so you can have the entire core braced tightly. A friend can assist by poking or whacking you at the midsection to ensure that you are bracing rightly.
- Traditional core muscle training involves flexing the spine and contracting the abs like crunching. These practices however, destroy the lower back. There are exercises with different variations that you can try. Training should be done without a belt and must never be done while sitting since it could lead to back injuries. The exercises include the following:

Plank and Side Plank
Push ups and variations
Military press and dead dog

And other variations so you can have that great steel abs that you always long for!
